VOCE Virtual Faculty

VOCE is developing an approach to computing education combining structured content, specialist virtual teachers and assessment of demonstrated skills. Learners would work through practical tasks and build a portfolio. Pedagogical agents are intended to explain concepts and comment on exercises within a defined curriculum, under the responsibility of authorised human educators.

Experience in vocational education

The design draws on team members with experience in GRETA and AFPA vocational education environments. Their individual experience informs observable objectives and professional situations; it does not constitute a partnership with those organisations.

Six programmes for development

IT Foundations

Prerequisites
Everyday computer use.
Objectives and skills
Write and explain a simple program; understand files, processes and networks.
Progression and practice
Variables, functions, command line, files and troubleshooting. Build a documented utility.
Proposed duration
40–60 hours
Assessment
New test cases, program explanation and independent diagnosis.

Software Engineering

Prerequisites
Basic programming and command line.
Objectives and skills
Build maintainable software and verify behaviour.
Progression and practice
Version control, modularity, tests, review and integration. Build a small service with error handling.
Proposed duration
60–90 hours
Assessment
Code repository, reproducible tests, human review and regression repair.

Data & APIs

Prerequisites
Basic programming.
Objectives and skills
Model data and integrate systems with integrity checks.
Progression and practice
SQL, transactions, API contracts, authentication and idempotency. Build a recoverable synchronisation.
Proposed duration
50–70 hours
Assessment
Schema, queries, contract tests, duplicates and simulated failure.

Cloud & Cybersecurity

Prerequisites
Systems and network foundations.
Objectives and skills
Operate a service with permissions, monitoring and recovery.
Progression and practice
Identity, deployment, secrets, backups and incidents. Prepare an isolated service and restore exercise.
Proposed duration
60–90 hours
Assessment
Reviewable configuration, access denials, restoration and fictional incident report.

AI & Agent Engineering

Prerequisites
Programming, APIs and statistical foundations.
Objectives and skills
Build and evaluate an agent with bounded permissions.
Progression and practice
Qwen and accessible-weight models, licences, retrieval, tools, MCP and governance. Use fictional data.
Proposed duration
60–90 hours
Assessment
Separate evaluation set, documented errors, tool controls, cost per accepted task and human review.

Enterprise Systems

Prerequisites
Data and business processes.
Objectives and skills
Map and automate an ERP/CRM workflow with business controls.
Progression and practice
Data models, permissions, reconciliation, exceptions and exit planning. Build a test integration.
Proposed duration
50–80 hours
Assessment
Process map, reconciliation, denial tests and recovery procedure.

Durations are design estimates to refine with the institution. These programmes are development proposals; enrolment and recognised qualifications are not offered on this page.

Virtual teachers within explicit boundaries

The target architecture would support text and voice in Montenegrin, English, Italian and French, progress tracking and isolated programming exercises. These capabilities require a pilot demonstration. Feedback must identify its criteria and allow a human educator to review and correct it.

Accessibility and support

The pilot should provide keyboard access, structured text, voice transcripts, alternative activities where needed, adjusted timing and a human contact. Accommodations will be agreed before opening.

Documented learning, defined recognition

A module and attendance statement document participation. Skills assessment requires reviewable outputs and criteria. A recognised certification or qualification depends on the competent authority. A degree requires a legally authorised institution and appropriate agreements and permissions. These proposals are not currently awarded degrees.

Frameworks and scope

e-CF / EN 16234-1:2019 supports professional ICT competence design; DigComp 3.0 supports transversal digital skills; ESCO identifies occupations and skills. Montenegro’s national framework and vocational or university requirements must be examined for the relevant institution and programme. ISO 21001:2025 is a voluntary management reference, not a certification claim. Detailed mappings require documentation before programme validation.

FR · EN · IT · Montenegrin

Technical language will require a versioned glossary, review by a competent native speaker with subject knowledge and learner comprehension testing. Montenegrin terminology requires dedicated validation. No Montenegrin edition is currently presented as available.

Concept · Proposed programmes and architecture

Concept → development → pilot → verified deployment. Moving between stages requires deliverables and evidence; no pilot or government partnership is presented as established.
